The Chimp has a new home. After four years working from our spare room, and with boxes of stock starting to leak into other parts of the house, it was time to make a move.
We've taken up residence with our sister company, Rinky Design (ie. also just me) in an ex-bank building on our local town of Maghera's high street. I started out looking for a small office with a bit of storage space, but when this spot came up I had to take it. As well as space to carry out the day-to-day work of both businesses, there was a lovely light-filled corner room deserving of more than just one chimp sitting at a desk.
Enter the Victory Chimp Service Course, our studio shop with biking benefits. You can come see our ranges in person, try them out in our fitting room or just come in for a chat. The idea is that this becomes a little hub for the local cycling community, so there'll be inner tubes and other essential spares, nutrition and a small selection of products from other brands we love. There's coffee too, obviously.
I've been busy over the past month or so getting the place ready, sanding, painting, display building and coffee schooling and I'm super excited to throw open the doors. There'll be some kind of opening party coming up, but feel free to call in now, it'd be great to see all you Chimpeurs here.
Come with your bike and I'll show you the best of the local roads, with .gpx files available of my favourite spins. The Sperrins are a short pedal away and home to some of the best cycling roads in the country, vast wild landscapes, killer climbs and stunning valleys. I've spent the last few years exploring every bit of mountain trail, forestry road and farm track I could find, so can point you in the right direction for a great gravel ride in completely unspoilt beauty (may contain traipsing through a bog or two). You can include some ancient history and stone circles if you fancy, or build in the Davagh trail centre if you want to get a bit more gnarly.
